Dan Black
Dan Black is a Leadership Performance Advisor at Wingspan Performance, with more than 25 years of experience in business leadership, entrepreneurship, leadership development, and organizational performance. He works with leaders and teams to strengthen the behaviors, communication, and leadership capabilities that help people perform at their best and organizations achieve results.
Throughout his career, Dan has worked at the intersection of people and performance. He began his career analyzing workforce capability at Bank of America. He later built and successfully exited his own real estate business. At the same time, he advised thousands of brokers and owners nationwide on how to recreate his success in their own markets. He later moved into a learning strategy role, advising organizations across a wide range of industries on leadership development, organizational performance, customer experience, and workforce transformation. Before joining Wingspan Performance, he founded and led The Learning Innovation Group, where he worked with leaders and cross-functional teams to cut through complexity, align around what matters most, and turn ideas into practical action.
Dan believes strong leadership is about creating the conditions that allow people to succeed. His approach is practical, curious, and highly interactive—asking the questions that uncover what is really getting in the way of performance and helping leaders build behaviors they can put to work immediately. That philosophy makes Wingspan a natural fit: lasting performance isn’t created by a one-time event; it’s built through intentional behavior, consistent practice, honest feedback, and meaningful relationships.
When he’s not working, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, Blair, and their two children, Mason and Sophia. He regularly enjoys a round of golf (disc or ball) with friends, surfing with his children, honing his Improv skills with his team, or sipping a fine wine on the front porch with Blair. He values the discipline of improving his game, the importance of listening, adapting, and responding in a rapidly changing environment, the craftsmanship behind a fine beverage, and the relationships he develops along the way.
