During a small team session yesterday, Alex admitted she was feeling disappointed in her practice of being more directive and concise with her peer VP’s.
Her teammate, Cora, quickly spoke up and pointed out two specific examples where Alex was totally on track with her practice AND having a productive impact on the group!
Alex was so surprised, “Oh, wow, I didn’t even realize I was doing that! Ok, I’m feeling better now that I’m actually making progress!”
Just like a friend who’s pointing out something interesting or exciting, you can support your teammates with feedback and help them see something they weren’t!
Providing and Receiving Feedback
Providing and receiving feedback doesn’t have to be a big hairy deal, so don’t make it one.
You see things that your colleagues/friends don’t and your practice of speaking up is incredibly valuable.
